Luke paced in front of the hieroglyphic wall in his room, gazing at the mass amount of designs. He wondered how the Ancient Egyptians were able to write in such a confusing manner for so long. There were symbols depicting numbers (which were slashes), circles, circles with x's, and zigzags. Others portrayed bodies of water, human symbols, pyramids, feathers, eagles, and other creatures.

One particular mosaic that caught his attention was of the goddess Hathor. He immediately recognized the Egyptian queen by her red sun disk crown with cow horns protruding from the sides. As Luke examined the mosaic, he became aware of how similar Vixie was to Hathor.

Her eyes seemed to fit Vixie's, dark but gentle. Hathor seemed to reflect her natural queen posture. Even the children surrounding Hathor seemed to mirror Vixie. But one thing that caught Luke's attention the most was the udjat that Hathor wore. Luke remembered Vixie telling him about how the udjat symbolized Horus's left eye that was torn out by the evil god Seth. All the symbols pointed towards the truth about Vixie and her past, but was Luke ready to believe it just yet?

The clock had struck midnight when Luke found Vixie wandering through the maze within Hill House. The humming Egyptian seemed unaware of Luke's presence behind her as she calmly moved down the hall.

Luke remembered how he had promised Vixie that he would pay her back for scaring him the first night they arrived. "Now perhaps," Luke thought, "I might be able to give Vixie a little what she gave me."

As quietly as he could, Luke snuck up behind Vixie, trying to avoid the various and multiple reflections of himself from popping up. Vixie paused and stared into a mirror and reached out towards it, as if trying to decide whether or not it was real.

Luke reached up to grab her by the shoulders. Vixie whirled around and exclaimed, "Hi Luke!"

"Ah!" Luke gave a soft yell, falling back a step. He began to laugh as Vixie held a triumphant smile on her face. Luke stated, coming back to her and wrapping his arms around her. He said, "I will scare you one day!"

"And as I said before," Vixie smiled, "I can't wait to see you try!"

"So what are you doing here?" Luke asked, looking at the glass in front of him. He remarked, seeing how that the same design repeating for what seemed an infinite, "Wow! Is this real or fake?"

"Fake," Vixie replied. She put her hand to the glass mirror and remarkably, her hand passed right through the glass. Vixie gave Luke a knowing smile.

"Wow," Luke commented, reaching through the glass and noting how the optical illusion had fooled him. "This place is exciting!"

"Come," Vixie said, taking Luke's left hand, "Lets go into that room! There's something I want to show you there!"

Luke questioned followed Vixie through three more fake glasses to a door on the opposite side. He paused, holding Vixie back from the door. Luke asked, "What is really in there?"

"A carousel," Vixie replied earnestly. She looked inquisitively at him, "Why? Is there something wrong?"

"I, I don't know," Luke stammered. He felt that something lurked within the walls of Hill House, something elusive but none-of-the-less dangerous. He wasn't all to sure if what he was worried about actually was within the carousel. Glancing at the concerned Vixie, Luke replied, "I just have this bad feeling."

"What, about the carousel?"

"No, this house."

Vixie smiled, "At last you are beginning to understand. Don't worry. Don't be afraid. Everything is going to be okay." She gave Luke a gentle kiss on the cheek before she turned to the door and opened it.

Immediately the sound of gears shifting and an odd carnival music filled the quiet passage. The two heavy doors opened and let out bright lights. The circular floor revolved with painted horses and chariots on top of it. Mirrors reflected every aspect of the circular carousel and the thrilled expressions of its new guests.

Vixie gingerly stepped onto the turntable and prompted Luke to join her. The carousel moved at a medium pace, allowing its guests to move freely about the carousel without worry of being thrown off.

Luke gripped one of the horses and looked into the mirrors. His feeling of uncertainty grew with each turn on the carousel. The elusive darkness seemed to be calling out into the carousel, beckoning for Vixie and Nell to follow it. The darkness held a child's voice. It kept calling, "Follow me Eleanor! Come with me Vixie!"

Glancing at Vixie, Luke noticed that Vixie was laughing as she danced around on the carousel. He wondered if she had heard the voice calling for her. But then Vixie came up to Luke and gently took hold of his hands and pulled him to the center of the carousel and began and odd sort of dancing with him.

Luke couldn't help but laugh. It was not easy dancing with someone on a rotating circular disk, more-or-less one that played such eerie and haunting music as this one. But as Luke watched Vixie's joyful expression and warm laughter, he felt his uneasiness disappearing. Once again, Vixie's calming presence seemed to have soothed his troubled nerves. Her gentle eyes, her gentle touch, and her gentle laugh contributed to a quite, romantic mood.

Drawing her close to him, Luke stated, "You sure know how to calm nerves."

Vixie gave him a soft smile, replying, "Well, they didn't call me 'The Goddess of Pleasure' for nothing now did they?"

"I guess not," Luke answered, kissing her tenderly on the lips.

Vixie's eyes closed as she took in each second of Luke's loving kiss, lingering for a good time. Pulling away slightly and opening her eyes, Vixie gave Luke another soft smile. Her eyes flickered over Luke's shoulder and she saw, much to her amazement, an Egyptian goddess wearing the red sun disk in between cow corns. Except, this goddess had a vulture head protruding from the crown instead of a cobra like Hathor's did.

"Mother?" Vixie questioned, pulling away from Luke and wandering her way unsteadily to the mirror.

Luke watched Vixie wander to the mirror. He didn't see anything other than Vixie's reflection in the mirrors. He called out to Vixie, walking over to her, "Hey Vixie, what's going on?"

Vixie gave a soft laugh, continuing to gaze in the mirror in rapt awe. She replied in a short laugh, "I see my mother, Isis. And look, there I am!"

She pointed to the right side of the mirror. Then she quickly pointed right next to it, saying, "And there's Marcus!"

Vixie quickly turned and gave Luke an excited grin. Then she looked back into the mirror and out at Luke. Vixie stated, "Oh my gosh!"

"What?" Luke asked, coming forward.

"Marcus, he's, he's," Vixie stuttered, continuing to shift glances from the mirror to Luke. "I mean, you're,"

The figure of Marcus Comdassius gently took the image of Hathor in his arms and smiled regally. Then the image of Anathor appeared right above Marcus and Hathor. Anathor seized Hathor while two lions came out of the corner. Vixie gave a horrified yell as Marcus pointed for Vixie to flee out the door.

Turning back to Luke, Vixie noticed a row of spirit children hovering right over the exit. Vixie heard Marcus telling her, "Ignore the children. Go now, sweet Hathor."

Vixie nodded and turned to Luke. She said, coming to him, "We have to go now!"

"I agree," Luke replied, taking her by the hand. They began walking across the carousel towards the exit.

Vixie glanced uneasily at the child still hovering over the exit. Squeezing Luke's hand even tighter, Vixie stated, "We mustn't be here!"

Rushing out of the carousel, the two confronted a watery passage with what appeared to be stone books as stepping-stones. Luke turned to Vixie and brought her near him, giving her a comforting embrace. He knew something was troubling her but he didn't know whether or not to believe her. After all, how could Vixie be an Ancient Egyptian goddess, of whom comforted the dead before they faced Anubis. It couldn't all be possible. There was no way!

Vixie laid her head against Luke's chest and listened to the gentle beating of his heart. Within his caring arms Vixie found comfort. She tried to make sense of the visions and the occurrences that had been happening since she first arrived at Hill House. Vixie thought, "Surely this in no way connected with Anathor, could it?"

Opening her eyes, Vixie stared up into Luke's blue eyes and gave him a small smile. Her eyes then caught a movement from above them. Two bronze lions, almost like the ones on the fireplace mantel, circled over them. Then the lions began walking over to the wall where they started to knock over the ionic column next to Luke and Vixie.

Vixie gasped in horror as the column started to fall towards them. Grabbing Luke's hand and yanking him to the books, Vixie cried, "The lions Luke! The lions!"

"What?" Luke questioned, following Vixie's lead but glancing back behind them. He looked to the two columns near the doorway and saw that they were perfectly sound, standing erect like they had always been. His eyes traveled to just above the doorway where he saw two lion carvings. A feeling of dread swept through him as he looked into the angry scowls of the creatures. He told Vixie, "They're not alive! They're just statues!"

Reaching the other side, Vixie pushed open the doors and stumbled into the entrance of Hill House. Vixie quickly shut the door behind Luke and rested on it. Luke walked around the circular entrance, looking at Vixie worriedly. He knew that the day had produced a lot of stress for the both of them; perhaps it was time to head to bed and get some rest.

"I think you need some sleep Vixie," Luke told her gently.

Vixie looked at him and shook her head. She knew that Luke wanted to help her feel better but she felt unsafe in the house. She replied, "I don't want to be alone Luke. This house, this incorrigible house scares me. It holds a secret, a dreadful secret that Nell is just beginning to realize!"

"Come," Luke said, gently putting his arm around Vixie and leading her towards the upstairs, "If you don't want to be alone you can stay in my room." He added with a laugh, "Sides, it's got all those hieroglyphs and statues that you love."

Vixie smiled, snuggling against him, "Thanks. I really appreciate your friendship, your love and your care."

"That's what I'm here for," Luke smiled, giving her a small kiss on her head.

As they walked towards Luke's room, they suddenly met up with Theo. She was looking out at the carpet, as if looking for something. She looked up when she saw Luke and Vixie approaching her. She came over to them, asking, "Hey, have you guys seen any red footprints on your ventures?"

"No," Vixie and Luke both replied. They began searching the ground with Theo. Vixie asked, "Why? What kind of footprints?"

"They're bloody footprints," Theo replied, "or so Nell told me."

"Bloody footprints?" Luke questioned.

Theo laughed, "Yeah, can you imagine that! I told Nell that she just needed to get some sleep. You know she hasn't slept much lately!"

"Yeah," Luke replied. He stared inquisitively at her and asked, "So why are you out here looking for bloody footprints?"

Theo shrugged, "I don't know. I just thought that there might be some truth in all of this." She looked towards her room and back at the group, "Well, if you guys haven't seen anything, I'm going back to bed."

"Well then, have a goodnight," Vixie smiled.

"Thanks," Theo returned with a smile. She started towards her bedroom, stating, "And I was having the best night's sleep I've ever had until Nell woke me up!"

Vixie chuckled at Theo, glancing at Luke. She let Luke lead her towards his room. For once in her life, Vixie actually felt tired and wanted to fall asleep. After all, she wasn't an immortal like she had previously thought. Her tears streaming down her face after Luke had yelled at her had brought a sense of reality back to her.

Following Luke into his bedroom, Vixie lay on the couch and closed her eyes.

The next morning, bright and promising, Vixie opened her eyes and gave a quiet yawn while stretching. She glanced over to where Luke would have been laying but only saw an empty bed. Then she felt a sudden presence behind her on the couch.

Whirling around, Vixie grabbed a startled Luke, exclaiming, "Caught you!"

Luke stumbled back. He hadn't expected Vixie to catch him trying to scare her this time. He sat on the carpet and gave her a weak smile.

Vixie chided, "You'll never learn will you?"

"I guess not," Luke chuckled, standing up. He knelt next to Vixie and asked, "Hey, are you hungry? I know it's not nine yet but I did see some fruit down in the kitchen if you're hungry. I could bring it up here for you if you'd like."

"Well, I am hungry but I'll go with you. I want to stop in the dinning room and have a look at that painting that's on the wall."

"Why? Is there something wrong with the painting?"

"Yeah," Vixie smiled, rising. She continued, "I want to know why such a dark and depressing painting like the Raft of the Medusa is up in the dinning room! I believe Gericault has other fantastic paintings other than that one to put up in the dinning room!"

Following Vixie out of the room, Luke remarked, "Wow, you sure know a lot about art! I'll bet that you know more about art than Theo!"

Vixie laughed and linked arms with Luke. The two headed to the dinning room.

It was early afternoon when Nell turned off the mini-recorder that she had found in the dinning room. She couldn't believe that Dr. Marrow was using the insomnia research as a cover for his experiment in group fear. Although Nell was angry at Dr. Marrow for lying to her, she couldn't help but feel that there was someone else behind the disturbances, someone less human.

Either way, Nell felt that the group needed to know about Dr. Marrow's experiment and the spirit that seemed to lurk within Hill House. She started into the house, searching for her companions. Eventually Nell came across Theo and Luke in the green house, arguing over who was behind the strange occurrences. Nell heard Luke telling Theo that Dr. Marrow was behind everything.

Nell spoke up, speeding to them, "It's not Dr. Marrow."

Theo looked relieved to see her. She exclaimed, trotting to her, "Nell! I've been looking for you all day!"

"It's not Dr. Marrow," Nell repeated.

"Then who Nell?" Luke pressed, following Theo over to Nell. He waited for Nell to say that Vixie was behind all the strange happenings.

"I'm not sure," Nell replied, gazing about the greenhouse. "There's something about this house. I feel completely at home."

"What are you saying Nell?" Theo inquired, beginning to become worried.

"Home is where the heart is," Nell smiled. She glanced up at the walkway that was connected to the DNA-strand-like staircase and nearly screamed at what she saw. The body of Renee, the town beauty (who had married Hugh Kraine and then had killed herself) was hanging from the scaffolding. Covering her mouth, Nell fled from the Greenhouse.

Glancing to where Nell had been looking, Luke and Theo saw nothing on or near the scaffolding. Luke turned to Theo and stated gravely, "If it's not Dr. Marrow, then that's a pretty scary proposition."

Dusk fell on Hill House, bringing with it a quiet air. Dr. Marrow had kept mostly to himself that day, avoiding contact with the subjects but only to occasionally inquire about how their tests were going. He had often wondered why he had not seen Vixie during the day. Dr. Marrow thought Vixie had become too close to Luke. Tomorrow, Dr. Marrow decided, he would separate the two so that they did not spend so much time together.

Luke walked into the study, looking for Vixie. He hadn't seen her since breakfast that morning. He was beginning to worry about her. Normally Vixie would be with him, holding his hand and snuggling up against him while explaining to him about various artworks around the house. Perhaps, Luke thought, the painting by Gericault, the one she said was titled; "The Raft of the Medusa" had greatly affected her. After all, the painting depicting cannibalism and human desperation was not exactly a romantic notion, although Vixie did say that the painting was from the Romantic Era. But where was Vixie and all her wonderful tidbits of art info?

In the center of the floor lay Vixie. Her eyes were closed and she was convulsing. She kept muttering, "He's here! He's here! He's coming to retake Nell and I! You've got to get out of here! Run Luke, run!"

"Vixie?" Luke called concernedly, rushing to her. Kneeling next to her, Luke began to gently shake Vixie, calling, "Hey Vixie, wake up! Wake up Vixie!"

"No, no, you've got to run!" Vixie exclaimed, her eyes still shut tight. She gripped Luke's light blue denim jacket, repeating her frightening exclamations.

Luke looked towards the open door and yelled frantically, "Dr. Marrow! Theo! Nell! Guys come in here! Vixie's in trouble!" Looking down at Vixie, Luke gently shook her again, whispering urgently, "Come on Vixie, wake up! It's just a nightmare!"

Slowly Vixie's eyes opened. She regarded Luke's terrified eyes with sorrow and despair. Taking in Luke's gentle reassurance that everything was okay, Vixie began to cry. She felt herself being propped up and leaned against Luke's chest.

"It was just a nightmare," Luke replied, embracing Vixie and stroking her hair. He asked, "Did you fall off the couch or something?"

"No," Vixie shook her head. "I was standing and I was looking at the fireplace when I felt this presence next to me. The next thing I knew I was hurled over the couch and I suddenly when I woke up I was in Ancient Egypt, back in Memphis. Anathor was after me and he kept saying that he had been reincarnated and now he was going to kill me!"

Theo and Dr. Marrow rushed in as Vixie finished her horrifying experience. Theo rushed to Vixie, questioning concernedly, "Is she all right?" Not waiting for Luke to reply, Theo sat next to Vixie and turned Vixie's face to her, asking, "Are you all right Vixie? Tell me, what happened?"

"He's here," Vixie mumbled, still crying.

"Who's here?" Theo gently pried.

"Anathor."

Dr. Marrow nervously cleared his throat. Perhaps Vixie had taken her role of scaring the subjects had gone so far into where Vixie herself was convinced of her folklore! Maybe his experiment was getting way out of hand. But what if Vixie was merely acting and she wasn't really frightened? Perhaps this was one of her ways of frightening and provoking the necessary fear that he required. At any rate, Vixie's "acting" was even beginning to worry Dr. Marrow himself!

He looked around for Nell, asking, "Has anyone seen Eleanor?"

"Not since the greenhouse," Theo replied. She turned back to Vixie and asked, "Are you going to be okay dear?"

"We've got to get out of this house," Vixie whispered. Her tears had stopped flowing but her anguish was still evident. She continued gravely, "Nell knows something about Hugh Kraine that is making him mad and I believe that Hugh Kraine is the reincarnation of Anathor! And now, since Hugh Kraine is a spirit and Nell and I are a part of the living, he's after us!"

"That's absurd!" Dr. Marrow exclaimed, deciding to take part in what he believed to be Vixie's "Oscar winning" performances. He kneeled down next to her and stated, "Vixie, I think you just need to lay down and get some rest."

Luke replied, "I think she's right Dr. Marrow. She needs to get out of the house!"

Dr. Marrow gave Luke a glare. How would he know what is in the best interest of Vixie? After all, why would she need to go if she was pulling off this good of an act? Little did Dr. Marrow realize the severity of the escalating problems within Hill House.

Just then Nell burst into the study. She looked directly at Dr. Marrow and stated, "He killed them!"

Everyone looked bewilderedly at Nell, speechless. Finally Dr. Marrow asked, "Who killed who Eleanor?"

"Kraine, he killed the children!" Nell exclaimed, her eyes wide with fear. She started towards Dr. Marrow but Theo met her halfway. Nell kept speaking, "Kraine wouldn't let the children go. He kept them locked up in the house and then he killed them and buried them in the fireplace. Renee found out about it and killed herself when he wouldn't let her go. Then he married Caroline but it's hard to keep a secret and she also found out the truth! Before Hugh Kraine could kill her she ran away!"

Nell looked directly at Vixie and stated, "But I don't know where you fit in though Vixie. The photo albums and records show that Hugh Kraine was searching for an elusive Egyptian vixen of whom he had been married to. Maybe that's where you fit in!"

Vixie stared at Nell, horrified that she was involved in Hill House. Vixie cried, "No! It's not possible! Kraine couldn't be Anathor! He doesn't even look Egyptian!"

Nell nodded, "That's why I find it hard to make a connection between Hugh Kraine and you. But I'll tell you one thing though Vixie, you are involved!"

"No!" Vixie again cried, burying her head in Luke's sleeve. She was beginning to realize the truth of the Hugh Kraine myth.

Dr. Marrow instructed Nell to lie down on the couch. Theo grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around her while Luke sat on the floor, comforting Vixie in his arms. Dr. Marrow sighed deeply. Perhaps his experiment had gone too far. Already Theo and Luke were suspicious of him using the insomnia research as a cover for his fear experiment. It was obvious Nell was going into shock and the events could be traumatizing enough where she would suffer mental instability for the rest of her life. Dr. Marrow decided that he didn't want Nell's mental health on his conscience for the rest of his life.

He said, "That's it, I'm pulling the plug." He bent over Nell and told her, "Eleanor, it's not true. You guys are a part of a group study in fear. I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience I've caused you. This experiment has gotten way out of hand and I'm pulling the plug."

Glancing uneasily at Theo and Luke, Dr. Marrow realized that they had already knew that he was using them as test subjects. He continued, "Come, lets get these ladies to bed. Tomorrow we'll all go home."

Theo nodded, "Good. But I don't understand why we can't get Nell and Vixie to a hospital right now!"

"The gate is locked," Dr. Marrow replied. "We'll have to wait till morning. But these women are not to be unwatched. I fear that they may sleep walk and get themselves into further mischief. Who wants to watch over who?"

"I'll watch over Nell," Theo offered, gazing sorrowfully at Nell.

Dr. Marrow looked at Luke and said, "I'll watch over Vixie for you Luke. You can go up to your room. You've done enough."

Theo scowled at Dr. Marrow, rising with Nell, "You're the one who has done enough Dr. Marrow! Let Luke watch over her. He actually cares about her safety and well being!"

With that, Theo marched away, leading Nell towards the bedrooms. Dr. Marrow watched them go. He couldn't help but worry about Nell's condition. There was nothing more he could do until morning. Theo had already shunned him from helping her or Nell and had even defended Luke caring for Vixie. His plans for a successful experiment suddenly vanished. He glanced at Luke and saw him gently lifting Vixie in his arms; Vixie's head rested against his shoulder and her eyes were lidded.

"I'm sure that was all part of the act she was pulling off," Dr. Marrow stated to Luke, walking over to him.

Luke gave the professor a glare. He replied, "I don't think so. I trust what Vixie says. You on the other hand, I don't know if I can trust you."

Then he left the study up towards his room, leaving Dr. Marrow to ponder over Luke's words.

In the thunderous silence Vixie woke up. Her fever that had suddenly sprung up while leaving the study had gone down considerably but the pain in her heart still lingered. She called softly out for Luke in the darkness. Outside, a fearsome thunderstorm could be heard in its infancy. Sporadic flickers of light reflected off of the smooth, golden walls of Luke's room. Again Vixie called out for Luke, her voice hoarse and raspy.

She had hardly remembered the moment when Luke had left her side on the bed, recollecting how the warmness from his body had suddenly been replaced by coldness. She remembered hearing Theo exclaim that Nell was gone and they had to find her. Then darkness fell over her again but now she was awake once more, and again, searching for Luke.

Seeing no one there, Vixie crawled out of the bed and opened the door. Peering out, Vixie discovered the hallway quiet. She looked towards Nell's open door and saw Luke lying on the couch, asleep. Walking towards him, Vixie wondered why he had left her. Approaching him, Vixie knelt down next to the couch and gently stroked his cheek and hair.

Luke's eyes fluttered open and he gave a small gasp.

"Vixie! What are you doing up?" Luke asked, sitting up. He felt her forehead, inquiring, "Are you feeling okay?"

"I was just wondering where you were," Vixie replied.

"Theo made me watch over Nell while she went to try and call for help," Luke explained. "Nell almost jumped from the scaffolding in the greenhouse while you were asleep. She broke her window and is now tossing and turning. Things are really looking bad here. I'm glad that you're doing better though."

"The pain is not gone though," Vixie replied, beginning to tear up. She cried, "I feel the pain in my heart. We need to get out of this house! I need to go back to my home and be with my family and you!"

Luke saw the desperation in her eyes and tried to comfort her with soft words of hope, "We'll be out of here by tomorrow morning. Then we can go home. We're going home Vixie! Don't you worry!"

Vixie shook her head, "Indeed, we will be going home. But I feel that something bad is going to happen to.."

Her words were cut off as she suddenly sprang up and ran towards Nell's room. Perhaps it was just an instinct, but Vixie knew that Nell had sent her a telepathic distress call. Something was amiss and Nell needed her now!

Vixie burst in Nell's room, the door slammed shut behind her. Nell began screaming. Vixie looked at Nell and saw that the upside-down Gothic finirs that were above her pillow had pinned Nell to her bed. Now a monstrous looking creature with multiple arms was descending out of the sagging roof, pulling the bed towards him. Hugh Kraine had returned to Hill House!

Upon Nell's scream, Luke jumped to full awakeness and leapt off the couch. He called for Dr. Marrow and Theo as he slammed against the door, trying to push the door open. Theo and Dr. Marrow soon joined him and began trying to push open the door. They could her Nell's scream above Vixie's yelling for her to stop screaming and try to get loose.

Finally the door caved in and the threesome tumbled into Nell's bedroom. Hugh Kraine in his distorted figure went back into the ceiling, letting the broken wood fall to the floor.

Theo couldn't believe the destruction that had been caused! Now she fully understood that what Nell and Vixie had been talking about was real! It wasn't some concoction that Dr. Marrow had created, the myth was true and so was the story. They had to get Nell and Vixie out!

Vixie had already started beating away at the Gothic finirs and with the help of Luke, they managed to free Nell just as the grotesque figure of Kraine re-emerged from the ceiling to take his prize.

Grabbing Nell, Dr. Marrow led the group out of the room and towards the entrance. Luke held Vixie's hand while running. He exclaimed, "Come on you guys! I'm not staying in this house another second!"

Once outside, Luke, Theo, and Dr. Marrow began searching for a way out of the gate. Vixie and Nell stood off to the side. Nell began to tell Vixie what she had seen while watching Luke try to break the lock with a shovel.

"I am one of Anathor's concubines Queen Hathor," Nell told her, bowing slightly. "And I am the caretaker of the children."

"What do you mean?" Vixie asked, watching Luke try to climb over the fence with little luck.

Nell explained, "I was locked up in the pyramid with you and I was one of the last ones to perish. When I met Osiris he told me that he would send me back to the mortal world when Anathor was allowed back into the real world. I was supposed to destroy Anathor but I was never able to. When Anathor came back, he became Hugh Kraine and his cruelty continued."

Vixie stared at Nell, beginning to understand how Nell was involved with Anathor and Ancient Egypt. Luke rushed past them, saying, "Nell, I'm borrowing your car."

Nell barely even heard him as she turned to Dr. Marrow and asked, "Dr. Marrow, how did you know the house wanted me?"

Dr. Marrow gave her a questioning glance. Nell continued, "How did you know to call me and tell me to look at your ad?"

Coming towards her, Dr. Marrow said, "I never called you about my ad. Eleanor, the first time we ever talked was when we met here."

Nell looked back towards the house and began to wonder if it was not just Vixie's destiny alone to bring Anathor down, but hers as well.

Luke sped the beige Gremlin towards the gate. The tiny Gremlin smashed into the gate, only bending the bottom of the gate out slightly. Luke felt his head slam into the glass windshield, luckily not harming him except for a major pain and bump. Just then, the heavy iron spike ornament on the gate fell on the car, it's spikes penetrating the roof of the Gremlin and barely grazing Luke's head.

"Luke!" Theo and Vixie exclaimed, running towards the car.

Luke tried to open the door but found that the ornament had locked him in the car. He tried to turn off the engine but the car refused to die. Panicking, Luke cried, "The car won't turn off and the doors won't open!"

Dr. Marrow took the shovel off the pavement and struck the back windshield and offered his hand to help Luke out of the car. As Dr. Marrow was assisting Luke, Vixie took in the aroma of the outdoors, immediately taking in the smell of gas. She glanced below the car and saw gas leaking out of it.

"It's leaking gas!" Vixie exclaimed, pulling Theo away from the Gremlin. She saw tiny sparks fall on the gas.

As the car began to erupt into flames, Luke and Dr. Marrow made it safely towards them. Rain began to fall around them as the car suddenly exploded, sending shrapnel everywhere. When the debris had fallen, Dr. Marrow looked for Nell but she was nowhere to be seen.
