OWEN Crossovers

Title: The Purloined Paper Overture
Author: Cielag
Type: Crossovers - Meet the Parents, Shanghai Noon (based on "Sagwa")
Genre: General
Disclaimer: I do not own any characters from "Sagwa" nor am I seeking or earning a profit from any of my "Sagwa" fan fiction. Amy Tan is author of the original "Sagwa" stories.
P/L: Sagwa discovers that her story has been stolen and plagiarized so she decides to set out on a journey to find the person who did it. A person by the code name "LplssWndr" is her only clue she has.

I am really mad! I worked countless hours on a fan fiction that others deemed "extraordinary" and "better than the original movie." I put my whole soul and mind into creating a truly unique story and now twice I have been slapped across the face and mocked with my story!

Okay, so it's not in the literal sense of being "slapped" across the face. What I mean is, there have been way too many issues that seem to revolve around my story; and thus makes it almost unbearable to live with! Well, I guess in order for you to get an understanding of my dilemma here, I need to explain a couple things about myself.

First of all, if you haven't figured it out already, I am a creative writer. I love to write stories. Telling stories is a part of my life and is one of the few things I do that lets me know that I have a special talent. And if that is taken away from me by some selfish person (who thought that he/she was talented enough to take someone's idea away) then what have I got left that I can call my own?

A similar incident has happened before and I wasn't very gracious towards the person I caught copying off of me. Why should I? Why should I be courteous to a person who had no respect whatsoever for my story and no obvious respect for the people who read it.

Another thing I can say about people who copy another story directly (or cheat in any shape or form) is that they lack integrity and courtesy. Seriously, does this person [who stole my story (and idea)] think that we're all oblivious to the fact that it's an apparent forgery? Surely this scoundrel has more honor and pride in him/herself than to stoop that low for a quick story-write!

Does this person understand the whole concept of writing and all that goes into the writing process? Doesn't this person know how long it takes to carefully plan out a story and then put it into words? Does this person know how much time it takes to go through the editing process? Does this person even care about the soul he/she is stealing when he/she copies the story?

Perhaps, some would say, the person was ignorant of the fact that he/she was indeed using someone else's idea. But think about it! There are never any two-alike stories! Sure, the one who copied the other person's story might have different character names, a different setting, or maybe even a different plot twist, but there are still obvious facts that point it out as being a fake! And if the person accidentally copied the story without knowing about it; I'm afraid to say that the person is nothing short of an ignoramus!

I still say that this person went out with the story in the full knowledge of what he/she was doing. I do not believe that this person copied MY story without knowing about it and the only reason why he/she copied my story is because that person lacked the creativity to create one on his/her own.

I am fed up with this "LplssWndr" (as his pen name spells). Beware "LplssWndr." I am on your trail and I WILL find out who you are. I do not appreciate what you have done with my story. Fan fiction is one thing, but copying is downright dishonest and appalling!

Perhaps when I find you, (no matter the lengths I have to go through, I will teach you some honor, pride, and respect!
